A Visit to the Parliament
An educational visit to the Parliament was organized by The Modern School, ECNCR for the students of classes S1 – S4. There was a lot of excitement in the air from the time the students came to know about the visit. After ample frisking and checking at every entry point, they were taken to the Chambers of Lok Sabha where an introduction was given by an official at the Parliament. As they entered the circular building the first thing they noticed beyond the security gates was the beauty of the place. The students observed and were explained about the intricate details of the place. They asked numerous questions from the officials, which were duly answered with ease and experience. Thereafter, everyone reached the Central Hall. Through the method of interactive storytelling, 2500 years of Indian History of Democracy came alive within 15 minutes. Students could visualize everything they had learnt in their text books as they could walk through the period with large screen interactive computers, immensive visualization, multi screen panoramic projections virtual reality and animatronics. However, true aw-inspiring moment was yet to come as they were taken the Podium, from where Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru delivered the speech of ‘Tryst with Destiny’ on the eve of Independence free from the British Raj. The different portraits that adorn the walls of the Central Hall seemed to convey a message of integrity that just could not be ignored. This tryst with history was a fruitful, enjoyable, knowledgeable and memorable visit.
