This was a unique learning experience for the students, wherein they observed different types of equipment to test the blood groups and learned about hemoglobin, plasma, platelets, and HIV in the blood bank. They learned what is blood donation, the importance of donation and the procedure for donation as well.
They were given a brief about the validity of tested blood samples and how the samples were stored. The students were given certificates for participation in the workshop at the blood bank.
Group B which was divided into smaller groups of 6 students each, visited the different departments of the hospital like ICU, ICCU, Pharmacy shop, Pathology Lab, Operation Theaters, and Emergency Services, etc. A detailed explanation regarding each department was given during the visit. They were also made familiar with the Third Party Administrator (TPA). Overall, the visits were very informative and enriching for both the groups.
