Independence Day Celebration
The 70th Independence Day of our nation was celebrated with great fervour and joy.
On Friday the 12th August the students of Nursery and K.G. class played host for the celebrations at The Modern School, Deepali.
They warmly welcomed Ms. Geeta Gera, Headmistress The Modern School, Charmwood Faridabad as the Chief Guest on this auspicious occasion along with Ms. Neelam Puri our Academic Director, Ms. Priyanka Gupta from the BOT office, Mr. Sanjay Garg along with his wife Ms. Garg and school Principal, Ms. Abha Sadana.
As a mark of their respect for the elders the students welcomed the guests with the traditional tikka and a bouquet of flowers as well as a ceremonial badge.
Ms. Geeta Gera hoisted the National flag to mark the beginning of the celebration and the students were quick to respond with the National Anthem.
The guests of honour planted a sapling each to encourage the children in their green school, clean school initiative taking the count up to 254 trees planted by Nursery and KG students this year.
From the flagpole area the Programme resumed in the inner courtyard with the presentation of the Roopak – “Our Journey to Freedom”.
All the children of class KG put their best foot forward as they presented a symbolic and colourful programme of songs, dances delicately woven in to the Roopak “Our Journey to Freedom”.
The KG class choir ended the days programme with a soulful rendition of the song – “We shall overcome someday!”
The children were very appropriately applauded for their confident and well synchronized performance.
The KG students thanked the guests for so graciously accepting their invitation and blessing them by being present for the occasion by a small token of a memorable potted plant.
The students returned to their respective classes to enjoy their refreshments and prepare their Independence Day take aways as the special invitees were see off by the teachers of the school.
