At The Modern School, ECNCR, the true spirit of a global world could be witnessed through ‘Lingua Fiesta- Festival of Languages & Cultures’ on April 29, 2017. The Chief Guest for the event was Professor Ajaya Kumar, Dean (Fine Arts), World School of Design. A fusion of languages showcasing various European and Indian cultures created an aura of unity in diversity that spread in the premises of the school. Various schools participated in this language festival where students showcased their proficiency in Hindi, Sanskrit, German and French language through various competitions such as Fancy Dress, Solo/Group Singing, Group Dance and Poster Making.The students were comprehensively judged by a panel of four judges, Ms. Kavita Shelley (Hindi language), Ms. Kavita Sharma (Sanskrit language), Ms. Kavita Chhabra (German language) and Mr. Gaurav Sharma (French language). Students also exhibited the culture of India, Germany and France by putting up creatively embellished stalls in the exhibition. Workshops for German and French were conducted for classes VI – VIII by Mr. Jakob Sonntag, Pasch, a resource person of German language from MaxMueller Bhavan with the aim to familiarize the students with the festival of Easter. The French workshop involved the students in creating comic strips conducted by Ms. Nikita Desai, Professor Amity University. At the end, all the participants captured the memories of the day at the selfie booth and left heart-warming messages on the wish tree, with a promise to return next year.
