Summer vacation is a magical time for children to utilise the summer vacations in the most productive manner where the learning process goes hand in hand with hands on fun activities. It is an opportunity for the students to hone skills as well as explore and express their creativity.
The Modern School, ECNCR organised an exciting and stimulating Summer Camp for classes Nursery to S3 from May 17 to May 27, 2019 as a prelude to the Summer Vacation ahead.
The tiny tots of Nursery and K.G. indulged in an array of activities like Best out of waste, Spiral Art, Beading activity, Abstract painting, Non-fire cooking, self-defense, sports like Football, Skating; speaking activities, building blocks and solving puzzles. Such hobby sessions aimed at developing their motor skills, imagination and making them self-reliant.
The school premises were abuzz with a plethora of activities where in the students of classes P1-P3 learned skills that gave them an extra edge over the others. They learned a variety of creative work like photo frame with straws, cooking without fire, spray painting, T-shirt painting , basket making with ice-cream sticks, paper weight making with stones and quilling ; they also passionately engaged in learning skating, football and Taekwondo. ‘Let's Speak Activity’ helped them to improve their voice modulation, pronunciation and vocabulary building. Various sessions of storytelling, poem recitation, and show and tell were conducted for the same. Their inherent skills and talents in Western Dance and Music were also nurtured.
The students of classes P4 –S3 participated in a myriad of activities such as model making, best out of waste, cookery, pottery, art & craft, instrumental music, western dance, multimedia etc. They learned to master the skills they had passion for and participated enthusiastically. The theatre session helped them to boost their self-confidence; sports like Football, Taekwondo, Cricket, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis and Basketball kept them physically fit.
The students also learned important aspects of Mannerism, Etiquettes, Body Language and many more during the Soft skills session. The importance of polite manners, need for personal hygiene and dining etiquettes as well as importance of Body Language ;important aspects of goal settings, time management and good communication was reiterated upon.
The camp culminated on May 28, 2019 with an exhibition of the marvellous work done by our ever efficient students during these multifarious activity sessions and magnificent presentations.Children performed several activities showcasing their talents with their proud parents in audience.
The confident and zealous performers performed dance and showcased musical presentations ; presented their acting skills through short skits and plays; depicted the learning in life skills sessions through role plays;enactments of show and tell , poem recitation and storytelling rocking the stage amidst cheers and appreciative applause of the parents. Both the students and their parents returned to their homes on the last day of the camp with immense happiness and jubilation.
