P3-Virtual Excursion-‘Famous Festivals of Africa’
Festivals attract tourists and pave way for festival tourism. In order to give a glimpse of the different festivals celebrated in Africa, a virtual excursion was organized for the students of class P3 on September 24, 2021. The excursion focused on the ‘Famous Festivals of Africa.’
The students were enthralled to see the Sun festival and the Sphinx festival of Egypt, the Calabar Carnival in Nigeria, the Eyo festival, the Lamu festival, the Ghadames festival, the New Yam festival , the Cake festival, the Mwaka Kogwa festival, the Ejando Street festival and many more. They were delighted to see the colourful attires, the folk dances, music, the donkey race, the sailing race, the mouth – watering delicacies and the local crafts of Africa.
The students also learned about the cultural festivals of India like the Mamllapuram Dance Festival of Tamil Nadu, International Kite festival of Gujarat, Surajkund Craft Mela, Desert festival, Float festival, Taj Mahotsav . the CamelFair and many more. The students learned that the talented people from all across the world could showcase their talent through such festivals.
The students were acquainted with the history behind all the festivals along with the glorious culture of Africa. It was a great learning experience for the students.
