Pre-Primary wing of The Modern School, ECNCR and Modern Early Years, Deepali celebrated the Junior Annual Sports Day with great zeal, excitement and gusto on February 15, 2020. The field adorned with balloons and colourful flags was teeming with enthusiastic young modernites in their bright blue tracksuits ready to showcase their passion, hard work and determination.The Principal, Ms. Abha Sadana and the Headmistress, Ms. Rimpy Verma felicitated the Chief Guest, Mr. Surinder Bhandoria, Deputy Director, Education SDMC who declared the meet open and released the school calendar. In his address, he urged the parents to encourage their children to pursue sports as an integral part of their childhood.
The Headmistress, Ms. Rimpy Verma laid emphasis on the importance of sports in a student’s life in her welcome speech followed by a brief school report of the sports activities and achievements of the school by Ms. Nalini Singh Rajput, Headmistress Modern Early Years Deepali.
The event commenced with the ‘Centenary Walk’ by all the students wherein they marched paying homage to the legacy of the 100 glorious years of Modern School.
The tiny tots held the audience spellbound with their well synchronized skating and taekwondo drills. The fusion drill showcased by the students along with their fathers was a spectacular show.The students also participated in engaging and innovative races like Pack the Picnic bag Race, Word Race, Full and Empty Race, Hurdle Race, Animal Race, Pattern and Sequencing Race and many more.It was also exhilarating to look at the little ones cheering for their parents during the special races organised for their parents and grandparents.
The zealous parents and grandparents, gathered in large numbers, constantly applauded the enthusiastic young sports stars who displayed that competition is not all about winning, but about the spirit of competing with fun.
