An educational virtual excursion to Goa was organised for the students of P4 on December 31, 2020. Educational excursions are a medium through which students learn more about the different places they read about.
Goa is known for its beaches, places of worship and world heritage architecture. It also has rich flora and fauna, owing to its location on the Western Ghats range, which is classified as a biodiversity hotspot. The land of sand and sun, Goa is an amalgamation of colonial wonders, architecture, beaches and the majestic forts.
The main idea behind this excursion was to let children explore North and South Goa and also to get a hand on experience of the enthralling places. The students were acquainted with a lot of information about the famous beaches like Baga beach and Candolim beach, places of worship, language, food and famous activities like fly boarding, parasailing, sea rafting, scuba diving and hot air balloon ride.
Children explored Goa-the smallest state of India and its famous tourist attractions like Dudhsagar Falls (‘Sea of Milk’), Basilica of Bom Jesus, Aguada Fort, its famous food- Bangdyachi Uddamethi, Xacuti and Vindaloo. They were astonished to see the colourful pictures and 360 degree view of the places which gave them the feeling that they were actually roaming there along with their teachers.
The students who had been to those places shared their experiences enthusiastically and others expressed their wish to visit the state.
