Raksha Bandhan & Janmashtami Week

"No love is bigger than the love of siblings"
Modern Early Years celebrated Raksha Bandhan and Janmashtami week  with great zeal and zest that one associates with the auspicious festivals.
A special movie time was organised during the week, wherein the students were told about the sacred bond of Raksha bandhan between a brother and sister.
The children added more beauty and love to the festival by making hand crafted Rakhis and tying them  on the wrists of their friends, thereby creating an eternal bond of love and care.
From the mesmerising tunes of the flute, to the earthen pots filled with the sweet tasting butter,  from the radiant and beautiful hues of the peacock feather, to the adorned swing with the idol of the ever innocent- looking Bal Krishna: each aspect of the lovely festival of 'Janmashtami', that marks the birth of Lord Krishna, was brought to life and celebrated. The  students left no stone unturned,  in order to learn about the nuances of the festival and to celebrate it with enthusiasm.
The week commenced with a special assembly conducted by the little ones. The children performed Krishna leelas during the week. They even made coconut laddoos to add to the sweetness of the occasion.
The exciting week culminated with Janmashtami celebrations, wherein the students depicted a few episodes of Kanha's life through cultural presentations. The parents also prepared Krishna  Leelas which they performed with their wards on the stage. The day ended with the reverberating dandiya dances followed by pot luck lunch.
The celebrations became  profound with the presence of Ms. Rimpy Verma, Headmistress Modern Early Years who highlighted the importance of the festival to the audience and encouraged them to celebrate it in all its glory.
