Educational Excursion to Redfort

‘Learning should be joyful and full of excitement. It is life’s greatest adventure;’

The students of class P3 of The Modern School, ECNCR went for an education excursion to Redfort also known as Lal Quila on February 15,2020.It is rightfully regarded as the crown of India’s heritage. There were 57 students who went for the excursion. They all were very curious to witness the monumental evidence of India’s freedom struggle, which is located in the heart of Delhi

The students were awe struck by the breathtaking and intricate architecture of the magnificent red sandstone structure ,which was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the year 1639. They were told that the great walled citadel took around 10 years to complete and was an outstanding example of the rich Indian culture intermingling with the Mughal culture ,which the Mughals had brought to India with them. The students were fascinated by the museum that depicted the freedom struggle of India and the weapons used by the freedom fighters at that time. They got to see the marvellous Makrani marble throne at the Diwan-e-Aam as well. Many beautiful gardens adorned the place.

The excursion enhanced the knowledge of the students about the great historical place and the rich culture and tradition it symbolises.
