Bully to Buddy Session “ Fortis Hospital

The Interact Club of The Modern School ECNCR organised a session on ‘Bully to Buddy’ for the  students of classes S4 and S6 on December 10, 2018 in the school campus. It was conducted by Ms. Nishtha Narula, Counselling Psychologist, Fortis Hospital and Ms. Mihika Mehrotra , Clinical Psychologist, Fortis Hospital.

The aim of the workshop was to make the students understand the meaning of bullying and how to deal with it, at  the school level with the help of their  teachers and  peers. The concept of bullying was explored on many levels from power to empowerment. What the word bullying means, strategies for dealing with bullying, building confidence and assertiveness were discussed at length during the session. The session empowered the students to say ‘NO’ to bullying. The resource persons talked about creating an anti-bullying squad in the campus to ensure an effective reporting system and subsequent addressal of issues pertaining to the same.

Interactors of class S6 volunteered to take up the task and form an anti bullying squad in the school. The students found the session enlightening and empowering as they understood that issues of bullying could  be dealt with, by making their bully a buddy. The resource persons concluded  by outlining that in order to help themselves , they had  to help others and form a circle of strength for all to survive.
