Bridging Futures: Career Fair and Inauguration of the Career Guidance Cell, FutSteps  at The Modern School ECNCR

In a significant stride towards empowering students with the knowledge and resources necessary for their future endeavors, The Modern School ECNCR  organized a Career Fair and inaugurated the Career Guidance Cell, FutSteps on November 17, 2023.

The event aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application, providing students with insights into various career paths and opportunities. 

The Career Fair witnessed the inauguration of Futsteps the Career Guidance Cell of the school.It marked a commitment by the school to provide ongoing support in career exploration and decision-making.The Career Guidance Cell was inaugurated by Ms. Meera Malhotra, Academic Coordinator, Board of Trustees, Modern School Barakhamba Road during a ceremony that underscored the school’s commitment to holistic student development. This dedicated cell is set to be a central hub for career-related resources, counseling services, and workshops. The inauguration ceremony emphasized the importance of informed career decision-making and the role the guidance cell will play in supporting students throughout their academic journey.

The session on New Age Careers by Mr. Abhishek Gupta, CEO High School Moms and GIDE.AI, along with a short discussion of admissions and scholarship in universities by Ms Anjali Anand Seth, Associate Vice President of Wesleyan College USA was a huge success with the participation of students of grades X-XII along with parents. 

The fair featured booths from more than 50 universities representing Australia, New Zealand, British Columbia, USA, Ireland, UK, Finland and India. 200+ students from the school as well as our neighbour school MNSS Rai participated in the event. The fair served as a platform for students to interact directly with university representatives, inquire about career trajectories, and gain a deeper understanding of the skills required in the workforce. Representatives from these institutions provided information about academic programs, admission processes, and scholarship opportunities. This engagement not only broadened students’ perspectives on higher education but also facilitated networking with university officials, creating a bridge between academic aspirations and tangible pathways.

Post-event surveys revealed overwhelmingly positive feedback from students and parents. Many expressed gratitude for the opportunity to interact with professionals and university representatives, citing the event as a pivotal moment in shaping their career goals. Students particularly appreciated the diversity of countries and universities represented, as it allowed them to explore a wide range of career options under one roof.

The success of the Career Fair and the inauguration of the Career Guidance Cell have paved the way for future initiatives. The school plans to organize regular career-oriented workshops, guest lectures, and mentorship programs. The Career Guidance Cell will also collaborate with industry experts and alumni to provide students with real-world insights and guidance, ensuring that they are well-equipped for the dynamic demands of the professional landscape.
