Career Fair Sessions 2022
“The future depends upon what you do today.” - Mahatma Gandhi
Career awareness involves an understanding of basic career concepts as well as the ability and discipline to use that information to make wise personal and career decisions; choosing the right education and training pathways. In an endeavour to provide our students with meaningful experiences to enhance their college and career readiness, The Modern School, ECNCR organised a Career Fair on December 12, 2022, for both parents and students of classes X -XII.
The opening session was a Career Counselling session by Mr. Alok Bansal, an expert career counsellor and mentor. Each year he conducts more than 200 seminars in schools and colleges. He has mentored more than 30,000 students and enabled them to achieve their goals. The session was for the students of classes IX and XI.
He busted different myths that children hold and delved deep into the importance to be given to one’s cognitive ability and aptitude in choosing a career. Students need to focus on building values and skills for accomplishing their dreams and career goals. Students were made aware of the different options in professions and courses they could pursue based on the subject choices they would make. Queries raised by the students were addressed by him. The session was immensely enriching and interesting.
The career fair gave an insight into post-secondary school opportunities for higher education within as well as outside India.More than 50 exhibitors from renowned Indian and international educational institutions/universities showcased their professional programmes and courses at this fair.
Students interacted with the representatives of participating universities and understood the different procedures as well as the requirements to qualify for admission.
As a part of the ongoing Career Week, sessions for the students of class X were organised related to the streams and the career options available with various combinations of subjects. Sessions were taken by HODs of Science, Commerce, Humanities, Psychology, IT and Math. The aim was to make the students aware and guide them in the selection of subjects for class XI.
The event, the first of its kind, proved to be an enriching experience for all who attended.
