CBSE Workshop
The Modern School, ECNCR, Delhi hosted a Capacity Building Programme organised by CBSE on June 29 and 30, 2024 respectively. The theme of the workshop was ‘Strengthening Assessment and Evaluation Practices’.
The resource persons, Mr. Satya Chaudhary, Principal of Sofia Convent School, and Ms. Neha, core member of British Council and All India Education Forum, commenced the session with the discussion on key challenges faced by the teachers in the classroom.
The workshop focused on the significance of the National Curriculum Framework, internal assessment and structure using Bloom's Taxonomy, innovative assessment strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and the integration of technology in assessment practices.
The resource persons highlighted the importance of creating Rubrics for consistent and objective assessments. They also elaborated upon the purpose and benefits of student portfolios and effective strategies for creating and maintaining them.
Participants were guided on how to use portfolios to track student progress, showcase achievements, and reflect on learning.
The session was highly interactive, with practical activities and role-playing exercises to help participants understand the nuances of effective evaluation practices. The workshop concluded with an address by the Principal , Mr Rajiv Srivastava. He spoke at length about the key takeaways and emphasised the importance of implementing the discussed assessment practices in schools. In nutshell, the participants gained valuable insights into modern assessment techniques and the workshop marked a significant step towards enhancing the quality of education through improved assessment and evaluation practices.
