To commemorate the magnificence of 100 years, The Modern School, ECNCR celebrated the Centenary Sports Day on December 07, 2019, with the parent body, Modern School, Barakhamba. The prestigious day witnessed the zeal, vigor, and enthusiasm of the versatile modernities from all the branches.

The event was glorified with the presence of the Chief Guest, all-rounder cricketer , Mr. Kapil Dev, eminent Board of trustees and other dignitaries, who honored the event with their gracious presence. The Chief Guest lit the ceremonial torch that was passed on to the state, national and international achievers in various sports followed by the March past by modernities displaying impeccable synchronization and disciplined attitude with the ensemble of the historical band. The Principal, Mr. Vijay Dutta welcomed the guests and parents on an auspicious day.

Mr. Kapil Dev, the Chief Guest presided over the oath taking ceremony and declared the sports meet open. He congratulated the school for celebrating the Centenary year and appreciated the spirit and zeal of the modern family.

The event went a notch higher with the flag hoisting done by the equestrians during the exemplary horseshow presented by trained national and international riders. Fitness and competence of the athletes were put to test through various races and relays The talented modernites of ECNCR branch proved their mettle by winning silver and bronze medals in 100 mtr sub –Junior, senior race and senior girls relay race. The spectators were delighted to witness different forms of drills like Zumba, aerobics, gymnastics, etc. inspiring them to be more fit and healthy. The zealous parents gathered in huge numbers, constantly applauded the fervent young sports stars.
