Cleanliness and Hygiene Week
From July 17 to July 21, 2023, students in grades Nursery - P2 observed Cleanliness and Hygiene Week
A variety of artistic activities were planned to educate kids about the value of good hygiene habits and inspire them to contribute to making the world a cleaner and prettier place.
Additionally, the children made a commitment to protect and conserve their world.
Day 1 (Personal Hygiene): A Powerpoint presentation and video explaining the significance of 'Personal Hygiene' and how to maintain a clean environment were shown to the students. Cleaning the classrooms and learning the fundamentals of washroom etiquette was next.
Day 2 (Food Hygiene): Children learned about the necessity of cleaning their hands before and after every meal, as well as how to wash fruits and vegetables to remove dirt. They were also inspired and encouraged to clear their own dishes and utensils.
Day 3 (Environmental Hygiene): To prevent illnesses and infections, it is crucial to keep the environment clean, whether at home or at school. Greener environments not only lower pollutants to keep us healthy and fit, but they also look lovely. All of our little ones swore to keep the environment tidy and clean and to not litter.
Day 4 (Special Assembly): To review the personal hygiene, environmental hygiene, household hygiene, and food hygiene lessons from the previous week, a special assembly on health and environment was held highlighting the fact that a sound body supports a sound mind.
Children also participated in art and craft projects and 'Fun Experiments' involving hygiene, such as 'Scatter the Germs Away'.
It was a wonderful celebration that served as a springboard for teaching young kids about cleanliness habits and making them know that they can contribute to maintaining their own health and cleanliness even at a young age.
