Community Development Leadership Summit
The Modern School, ECNCR, participated in Community Development Leadership Summit organized by Modern School, Barakhamba Road from December 15 to December 20,2018.
Day 1
CDLS was inaugurated on December 15, 2018. In reference to the water crisis faced by the world the theme of the event was ‘Water's Waterloo'. Four student delegates namely Priyansh Jain, Diya Jain and Somya Jain of class S6 and Rudraksh Sachin Joshi of class S4 with a teacher delegate, Ms. Shikha Khanna participated in the summit. The Chief Guest, Mr. Dhirendra Singh, a former IAS officer and Union Home Secretary spoke on the topic. He inspired the delegates to emerge victorious in the battle for water.
The intellectuals: Mr. Karl of South Africa, Ms Kornellie of Philippines, Ms Erica of USA, Mr Stanley of Ghana and Mr Zane of Italy shared their first hand experience with water related problems. The discussions continued with the issue of water crisis at the local and global level and talks of solutions to combat the issue followed.
The second half comprised of a fun filled creative session.
Day 2:
The student delegates of The Modern School ECNCR, gave a presentation on the theme of the event ‘Water’s Waterloo’.
Diverse range of ideas emerged during the presentation which led to a great deal of interaction among the participants. Later, they visited the Cheshire Home - a shelter for the destitute and disabled.
Day 3:
The day commenced with an interesting interaction among the delegates, teachers and S1 and S2 student community of Modern School. Students performed different activities dipicting Indian culture and heritage, followed by a cultural presentation which was further enhanced by the performance of the renowned Kathak Dancer Ms. Monisa, under the aegis of SPIC MACAY, a society for the promotion of Indian Classical music and Culture amongst youth.
During the post lunch session, the delegates were engaged in activities which included creative Writing, Poster Making ,Science Quiz etc. The Chief Guest, Mr. Sanjay Singh, Representative ,Tata Sons addressed the gathering, followed by the school Principal, Dr. Vijay Datta who enlightened the delegates on how such summits helped them to face unexpected hurdles.
Day 4:
The Indian mystique was unraveled at the Radha Krishnan School. The delegates had the privileged to experience the vibrant world of Indian culture there. The visit to Radhakrishnan left the delegates brimming with excitement.
In the second half of the day, student delegates were seen finalizing their rehearsals which they had to present on stage.
Day 5:
On the last day of the summit, delegates of different countries showcased their culture in the exhibition, put up in the school premises. The evening unfolded with cultural performances and Valedictory ceremony. Mr. Ashok Pratap Singh ,Senior Member, Board of Trustees, Modern School was the Chief Guest of the occasion. He released the CDLS Brochure and Digital Photo Album on the momentous event.This marked the culmination of a five day enriching summit.
