Another commendable initiative by the Interact Club of The Modern School, ECNCR , a webinar was organised on Cyber Security on 26 September, 2020. It was streamed on You Tube live.

The guest speaker was a super special expert in ‘Cyber Security’, Mr. Rakshit Tandon who enlightened the students as well as parents about the risk of not having netiquettes.

He elaborated how we all leave our digital footprints which could not be deleted ever and how dangerous ignoring our security on internet could be for an individual and society. The children were also cautioned against using inappropriate language and prank online especially during online classes, watsapp calling etc. as it is a punishable offence and as everything digital is recorded automatically, so it could be used to bully or notified to the Cyber Cell.

The main aim was to remind us all about being good netizens and having clean digital footprints. Mr. Rakshit further advised various ways of keeping our phones and emails secure as well as also warned us against various fake sites and viruses that may harm our device and data. Using visual aids to highlight the key points, he suggested various sites to check if our data has ever been pawned and if so by which app or site.

During the Q&A session, parents and other attendees inquired about their children’s usage of internet and how they can safeguard them from any mishap and indulgence in inappropriate activity. The seminar concluded on the note that the best way to being a good netizen is to have a clear, clean digital footprint and that we all must do our bit to make cyber space a safe space .
