Educational Excursion to 'Northern Mountains and Hill Stations of India' for class V
In the intense heat of Delhi and NCR, an excursion to hill stations is like an oasis in a desert. The hill stations of north India have always been an attraction for many tourists around the world. The school organized a virtual excursion to the Northern Mountains and Hill Stations of India on April 30, 2022 for the students of class P5 during an online Zoom session.
The journey commenced from Delhi airport and the first destination was the beautiful hills of Srinagar. Some of the famous places to visit were the beautiful Dal Lake, the wonderful Indira Gandhi Tulip Garden, Sonamarg (for trekking), Mughal Garden-the Crown of Srinagar. The next destination was Shimla where the students beheld some of the famous tourist attractions such as the Toy Train from Kalka to Shimla, Mall Road, Christ Church at the Ridge, Kali Bari Temple and the famous Summer Hill where the Himachal University is situated. The next destination was Dalhousie, where the students visited Khajjiyar-Mini Switzerland of India, the mesmerizing Satdhara Falls, Daikund Peak; the highest peak of Dalhousie and the Tibetan Handicrafts Market. The next destination was Solang Valley where the students saw the beautiful and historic Hidimba Temple, Ropeway Ride, Mall Road and experienced many adventurous rides. Last but not the least, the students revelled in the beauty of the famous Mount Everest in the Himadri range.
The purpose of the excursion was to make students see and experience what they study in textbooks as well as witness a variety of cultural and geographical ecosystems. The students inculcated the value of togetherness, sharing and bonding with one another and at the same time made long lasting memories with their teachers and peers.
