Feminine Hygiene Awareness Project Workshop
The Feminine Hygiene Awareness Project was conducted on August 23, 2025, at Government School, Barri Gannaur, under the guidance of Ms. Anita, Social Work Projects Incharge and School Counsellor. The initiative aimed to promote menstrual health, dispel myths, and support girl students with essential resources.
The programme commenced with a Nukkad Natak (street play) presented by our students, which effectively highlighted common misconceptions, essential hygiene practices, and the importance of perceiving menstruation as a natural process. The performance was interactive and engaging, creating a safe and open environment for discussion.
Following the play, sanitary pads were distributed among the girl students, accompanied by guidance on safe usage, changing frequency, and methods of proper disposal. An interactive session further encouraged students to ask questions and clarify doubts regarding menstrual health.
The project directly benefited around 400 students, enhancing their awareness, confidence, and comfort in managing menstruation. The initiative received appreciation from the School Principal, Ms. Shweta, and the teaching faculty, who acknowledged its vital role in reducing absenteeism and addressing stigma. The involvement of boys was also emphasized as a crucial step towards normalizing conversations around menstruation.
In conclusion, the Feminine Hygiene Awareness Project successfully integrated awareness, education, and service, leaving a lasting impact on students and paving the way for healthier and more inclusive practices in schools.
