On Saturday,  August 19,2023 , the students of class 2 went on a field trip to Reliance Smart 
Supermarket to witness and understand the working of a supermarket.
 Field trips play an important role in learning as they link the classroom experience 
with the outside world and in doing so they drastically improve the process of learning, and also 
give both the learners and educator valued practical experience. 
The children saw a wide variety of food and goods which help us to follow healthy habits on a day to day basis.
The trip was a success as the modernites exhibited a high level of enthusiasm and conducted themselves with a cheerful and disciplined disposition.
 
They identified healthy and unhealthy food very enthusiastically. They exclaimed 
confidently that chocolates, ice cream, cakes and chips etc. are unhealthy although they surely were more excited while exploring the junk food zone. They were encouraged to buy healthy food. Their observations were not restricted to food. They also pointed out items that we use to brush teeth, wash hands and take a bath etc.The inquisitive minds discussed floor cleaners, detergents and dishwashing soaps mentioning that they clean the germs. 
Hands on practice activity on the topic of addition and subtraction was also done. As when the 
students were buying the things, they were asked to add the price of total number of items and 
subtract from ₹200. One of the most common everyday uses for addition and subtraction is when working with money. For example, adding up bills and receipts from a supermarket. 
This educational and interactive experience is sure to leave a lasting impression as  it was truly an enriching experience that helped them to enhance their social skills.
