A special assembly was organized by the students of Himalaya House for classes P1-S7 on the occasion of Basant Panchami on February 12, 2021, on a virtual platform.

It is a festival that marks the advent of the Spring season. People worship goddess Saraswati, who is regarded as the goddess of knowledge and wisdom, on this day. The celebrations commenced with Saraswati Vandana for seeking the blessings of the goddess. The students were attired in a yellow outfit and they ate yellow colored sweets on account of the sanctity of the special day. The students were enlightened about the significance of yellow color on the day as it is the symbol of brilliance and shine. The cultural presentations of the students were joyous and heartwarming. A PowerPoint presentation was also shown that gave the message that wealth of knowledge can never fade away from one’s life.

Celebrating such festivals brings everyone closer to the traditional and cultural roots. They inculcate the essential value system in the young modernites.
