Hindu College Science Outreach Programme

“There are no shortcuts in evolution. Science knows no country, because knowledge belongs to humanity, and is the torch which illuminates the world. Science is the highest personification of
the nation because that nation will remain the first which carries the furthest the works of thought and intelligence.” Following the legacy of excellence, Hindu College, Delhi University under the aegis of DBT star college scheme and IQAC held an outreach programme for Modern Schools in the month of July. Students of class S7A (Science stream)  from The Modern School, ECNCR visited the Hindu College to perform experiments in Botany, Zoology, Physics and Chemistry from July 4, 2022 to July 7, 2022. The students performed multifarious experiments under the guidance of the Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany departments of Hindu College :

Physics - LCR circuit, Newton's Rings, CRO, Diffraction, BH curve, etc.Zoology – Isolating of DNA Sample, calculation of BMI and Blood samples etc.

Botany - pH of soil, Mitosis etc.

Chemistry – Biodiesel out of coking waste oil, Nano-particles, making of soap etc. The students were able to visualize various parameters of experiments that are otherwise difficult to comprehend. It was an extremely enriching and once in a lifetime experience to learn under the able guidance of renowned subject experts of the Hindu College namely Dr. Pradyuman,
Dr. Kaul, Dr. Tyagi and their team. In the Valedictory ceremony conducted by the Vice Principal, Hindu College, Dr. Reena Jain and other department heads in the conference hall, the efforts of
students and teachers involved in the programme were highly appreciated. Ms. Ambika Pant, Honorary Secretary, Board of Trustees and the Academic head of The Modern School, ECNCR,
Ms Meera Malhotra graced the ceremony with their presence and motivated all the students towards excellence. The event culminated with the distribution of certificates to all the students
and teachers of the respective schools.
