To commemorate the sovereignty of the nation, The Modern School, ECNCR celebrated the 71^st Independence Day on Friday, August 10, 2018. The Chief Guest of the occasion was Dr Sanjeev P. Sahni, Principal Director, Jindal Global University and the Guest of Honour was  Mr. Rajiv Jain, Senior BJP leader and media advisor to the Chief Minister of Haryana. The school reverberated with the humming of Sare jahan se acchha and Vande Matram .  The premises soaked in the vibrant colours of our national flag filled everyone with love and pride for our great motherland.  The Interact Club of the school acquainted the audience with the Flag code of India, spreading awareness regarding reverence for the national flag.

The programme commenced with the unfurling of the national flag by the Chief Guest followed by the lamp lighting ceremony and felicitation of the guests by the school Principal, Ms. Abha Sadana.

The tiranga spoke volumes about the meaning and essence of freedom , emphasizing its importance and inspiring one and all to rise and embrace the new sunrise.

The talented modernites displayed patriotic fervor in the form of a colourful spectacle, Jashn-E- Azadi.  It elucidated the journey of our tricolour, the sacrifices made by our leaders and freedom fighters to uphold its sanctity as well as our nation's diverse culture and its relevance in today's times.

The students through the magnificent dance drama urged everyone to strive to hold on to our roots and tread the path of progress, ushering the nation into the new millennia. The presentation was applauded by the audience and enthralled one and all. The honourable Chief Guest and Guest of Honour congratulated the students for the spectacular show and applauded the efforts of the school in shaping them into principled citizens of India.

The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the Headmistress, Ms. Rimpy Verma.
