International literacy day assembly

Literacy plays an important role in empowering and transforming the lives of the individuals and society. The students from classes P1-P5 of The Modern School, ECNCR celebrated the International Literacy Day on September 11, 2020 through a special virtual assembly. The assembly commenced with a short PowerPoint presentation where the teachers elucidated the importance of learning. The teachers also encouraged students to donate their old books, notebooks or stationery items to the underprivileged. Morning Prayer ‘Itni Shakti hume dena data…’ was sung by Ms. Panamika Goswami followed by a talk on literacy by Jashn Dhull of P5B and Navay Gupta of class P2 C wherein they explained how International Literacy Day is celebrated around the world. The news headlines and weather forecast were presented by Bissman of class P5A, Aryahi Srivastava of class P2 B and Hridhaan Shokeen of class P1 C. The thought provoking quotes were presented by Mankaran Singh of class P4 A and Aarav Arora of class P1 B wherein they reprised that knowledge is the ultimate weapon that a human can have.

Advika Jahwar of class P4B and Amey Singh of class P1 B recited a beautiful poem on the theme that stated that learning is lifelong so the main focus should be on educating youth and adults. Exquisite dance performances were presented by Roopashri Gidwani of class P2 B and Nishthaan Saluja of class P1 B.

The assembly concluded with a message for all to join hands and resolve to create a self-reliant, self-confident and competent India that is literate, educated and empowered.
