18 students of classes S4 to S7 attended the Law symposium held on March 25, 2023 organised by U. S. Embassy, New Delhi in collaboration with former Additional Solicitor General of India, Ms. Pinky Anand and former Supreme Court Justice, Mr. A.K.Sikri.

 
It was titled ' Bachpan ka Safar' - a child centric discussion on custody disputes. The idea was to have a glimpse of career in Law and to know about child’s custody issues like Parental Inanition Syndrome. 

As in 80% - 90% cases, it was seen that a child suffers due to the conflict between the parents, so, the  Supreme Court had announced in 2017  that the decision of the custody will be taken as per the child's best interest and not as per the parent interest. 

Four panels discussed about the imposition of law regarding the sensitive issue of child sufferings due to parental fight for custody. It was
suggested by the renowned Psychologists, Lawyers and former judges that there should be some test to know the mindset of the parents. The child’s mental wellbeing must be taken care of and  every judgement should be looked through the child’s welfare.

Students attending the symposium took immense interest in all the discussions and were thoughtful about the same.
It was a thought provoking and enriching experience for all
