The Modern School, ECNCR participated in a Master Craftperson Programme held at National Crafts Museum and Hastkala Academy on February 5 and 6, 2020.

The interaction cum demonstration workshop was attended by class S1 and S2 students. The event commenced with a dance and music performance by various artists from Himachal Pradesh.The crafts introduced were painted chintzas , kalamkaris and block printing. An audio visual presentation explaining different art forms was also shown to the students.

The event aimed at arousing the interest of students in traditional art forms and textiles which are losing their importance due to presence of increasing gadgets . Traditional craft persons from specific regions demonstrated an activity and the students were thrilled to perform the hands on activity.

A tour of the textile gallery inside the museum which displayed bandhni forms and other forms of fabric art fascinated everyone. It was an enriching experience for the budding artists.
