‘To learn a language is to have one more window from which to look at the world.’

The Modern School, ECNCR participated in the event ‘Namaste European’ organized by Goethe Institut, New Delhi in collaboration with Mayo College, Ajmer to celebrate the ‘European day of languages’. The event was held from September 26, 2020 to October 26, 2020. Various Inter-school competitions and workshops for German, French and Spanish languages were conducted in the festival. The event was conducted at the National and International level, and approximately 150- 180 schools from India, UK and Dubai participated and competed to win.

German and French learners of classes S1to S5 participated in various online and offline competitions such as: Meme Competition, Quiz, Spell Bee, Poetry Recitation, Comic Strip, Loud Reading, Solo Song & Declamation competitions. Two students of class P5 also participated in a Trilingual Workshop, wherein they learned the basics of three languages namely- German, French and Spanish as well as had an enriching experience getting to know about the culture of the three countries.

Shourya Garg of class S2 bagged the 1st position in German Meme competition. He was also awarded with a gift voucher worth Rs 2000 and a goody bag from Goethe Institut.

Through this event, the students not only got an opportunity to showcase their talent, but also had an edifying experience.
