The Modern School, ECNCR conducted an Open House Session for the parents of classes S1 – S3 on the topic ‘Challenges faced by the parents of teenagers’ on November 18, 2017. The Open House session was taken up by the school Counsellor – Ms. Anita. The aim of the session was to motivate the parents to know about the development phases of teenage and the changes that takes place during those phases. Further the challenges faced by a teenager were also discussed in the forum. The school counselor guided the parents about how to motivate and treat adolescents, create a positive family atmosphere, believe in the concept of listening to their wards and effectively meet up to any parenting challenge in today’s modern world. The issues related to adolescence were discussed at length by the parents and effective conclusions were derived. Ms. Sushma Singh, Counsellor, Modern School Barakhamba Road present for the session, also shared her words of wisdom and guided the parents in relation to effective parenting of teenagers.

It was a fruitful interactive session with the parents who expressed their concerns about their children and discussed the challenges they were facing in handling the adolescents.
