Patriotic week

"A nation’s culture resides in the heart and soul of its people.”

The 74th Republic Day of India was celebrated with immense patriotic fervour and zeal by the students of classes Nursery to P2 from January 23-27, 2023. A plethora of activities were organised during the Patriotic Week to infuse the spirit of unity, brotherhood and patriotism among our young modernites.

On the first day of the week the tiny tots were introduced to the history of India and its freedom struggle since 1957 through a Power point presentation . During this walk down the history lane, they were also made aware of the national symbols of India  and were briefed about the significance of each colour of the national flag.

On the second day, the students of Nursery-KG  dressed as different freedom fighters of India participated in the character Parade activity. The activity aimed at remembering  the freedom fighters who laid their lives for their motherland. On the other hand, the students of classes P1-P2 did a role play activity wherein they represented different states of India and elaborated upon their famous food, festivals and clothes.

A special assembly was also conducted to celebrate Republic Day, followed by the hoisting of Indian flag to commemorate the formation of Constitution of India. It comprised of a small cultural programme that was organized in the school premises by the little ones, which included patriotic dances and a scintillating performance by the budding singers. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity, through their performances.

Our creative little hands indulged in fun- filled patriotic craft activities throughout the week. They made their own Indian flags through a Tearing and Pasting activity. Tri coloured badges were also well crafted by them with the help of their class teachers. The wonders on the plate were experienced by them through a non fire cooking activity, in which they prepared a tricoloured flag using different fruits and tricoloured sandwiches too. They relished the dishes with their friends and took them back home for their parents as well, on the special occasion.

All the children actively participated in all these activities that enhanced their understanding of the history of their nation and helped them explore their creativity too. It was a fun learning experience with the flavour of  patriotism .
