Patriotic Week
"A nation's culture resides in the heart and soul of its people." The 77th Independence Day of India was celebrated with immense patriotic fervour and zeal by the students and teachers of classes Nursery to 2 from August 7-14 ,2023. During the Patriotic Week, a wide range of events were planned to foster a sense of harmony, brotherhood, and patriotism among our young modernites.
Through a power point presentation, the children were exposed to India's history and its struggle for independence since 1957 on the first day of the week. They learned about the National Symbols of India and the meanings behind each color of the Indian flag during this historical stroll. Saffron, for example, stands for courage, white for peace, and green for prosperity.
For the character parade activity of the week, the students arrived on the second day costumed as various Indian liberation fighters. The event was held in honor of all the freedom fighters who gave their lives protecting their country.
On the third day, a special assembly was conducted to celebrate
Independence Day, followed by the hoisting of the Indian flag to commemorate the formation of the Constitution of India. The special assembly comprised of a small cultural programme that was organized in the school premises by the little ones, which included prayer, patriotic dances and a scintillating performance by the aspiring vocalists. Through their performances, the students took great pride in highlighting and celebrating the spirit of oneness.
Our young hands delighted in fun-filled patriotic craft projects on the fourth day. With the assistance of their class teachers, they constructed their own expertly crafted Indian flags.
All the kids actively engaged in all the activities that improved their knowledge of their country's history and encouraged them to use their creativity. It was a rewarding educational experience with a strong patriotic undertone.
