'Peer to Pillar'- A Session on How to combat Mental Stress
'Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.'
The Interact Club of The Modern School, ECNCR organised a session on the role of peers in our lives to combat mental stress titled 'Peer to Pillar' for the students of S1 to S7 on May 16, 2023. The guest speakers of the session, Ms Aakriti Gupta, a Psychologist and art based Therapist and Ms Varisha Kamal, a Counselling Psychologist at Department of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences at Fortis Healthcare were welcomed and felicitated by Ms. Meera Malhotra , Coordinator, Managed Modern Schools , the Principal , Mr. Rajiv Shrivastav and the Headmistress, Ms. Rimpy Verma.
Ms. Aakriti Gupta alongwith Ms Varisha Kamal spearheaded the session wherein they emphasised upon the significance of support of friends and peers in coping up with stress in our lives. It was an interactive session where students were asked about their lives' problems especially after COVID. They were enlightened about the significance of being empathetic, supportive, compassionate, helpful and not being judgemental about the people around them. This session proved beneficial for the students as they were propelled to build positive relationships and be responsible towards their own actions. Students were motivated to become social media influencers by spreading positivity in the society. Towards the end of the session the students' queries were also answered by the guest speakers.
Ms. Meera Malhotra proposed a vote of thanks in the end and the Principal, Mr Rajiv Shrivastav thanked the guest speakers for addressing this crucial role of the peers in being empathetic towards each other.
