Ditya Garg (S3), Udyati Aggarwal (S3), Dhruv Soni (S4), Ms. Shweta Rana and Ms. Manasvi Gupta (Social Science Department) of The Modern School, ECNCR participated in a Video Conference on Rights of Women and Girls organised by The Dais, Gateway International School and Generation Global Team on the occasion of International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25. 2020.

The agenda of the video conference was to provide an open platform for the students aged between 12-14 years to share with one another where they perceive opportunities and barriers/ challenges for girls and women in their communities, ask questions regarding what they learned in the sharing session and on the topic generally as well as enquire about the more challenging aspects of the rights of girls and women.

The students actively participated in the conference and put forth their own opinion on the topic in general and on specific issues like equality between men and women, things which create stress for women and how support of the family and friends can help in women empowerment.

The conference was concluded with reflections wherein all the student participants reflected on what they learned in the conference and on what surprised them the most.

The experience of attending such an event proved to be very informative for the students and helped build a better and more empowered future generation.
