Literacy Day depicts the importance of literacy throughout the globe and urges the society to provide education of purpose to the people globally, irrespective of their class, region, religion and race.

A special virtual assembly on Literacy Day was conducted on September 9,2021 by the students of Shiwalik House for classes S1 to S7.

It was highlighted through the assembly that Literacy is a matter of dignity and human right,  as students spoke on the celebration of 'World Literacy Day' and presented poems, dance and songs to bring the point home that literacy is the foundation of learning. A PowerPoint presentation accentuated the vital role literacy plays in curbing poverty, establishing gender impartiality along with promising a bright future. The pandemic in itself was a reminder of the dire need and importance of literacy.

The modernites expressed their views and fervently promoted the significance of literacy through the observance of the day.
