Shiwalik House Assembly Nursery-S7

Krishna Janmashtami, also known simply as Janmashtami or Gokulashtami, is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu. To commemorate this day a special virtual assembly was conducted by the Shiwalik House students of classes P-1 P5 on August 7, 2020. The assembly commenced with a melodious rendition of the prayer ‘Har desh main tu, har vesh main tu...’ sung by Ms. Pranamika Goswami followed by the news that was read by Aanish Grover of class P5 A. The weather forecast and ‘word for the week’ with its meaning was appropriately explained by Parv Aggarwal of class P2 B. ‘Thought of the Day’ was presented by Daksh Vaswani of class P5C and Milin Bedi of class of P2 C wherein they enlightened us with a thought-provoking message on auspicious day of Janmashtami from our holy book. the Bhagwad Geeta. The talk presented by Anshika of class P5 A and Ivyaan Bhayana of class P2 B elaborated on the fact that we should never engage in action for the sake of reward, nor should one long for inaction.

The highlight of the assembly was the talent presented by our dancing stars from class P4 C, Mrigank Arora who tapped his feet on the song Hey Hey Govinda... Gwalon Ki Bheed Jami Aaj... and Seerat Kaur of class P2 A who mesmerised everyone by her beautiful dance performance on 'Kanha so ja zara'.

Janamshtami is a religious festival which is celebrated with great enthusiasm as well as zeal and continuing with the festivities, Shiwalik House students from classes S1-S7 invigorated everyone with their performances. Shubham Agarwal of class S1 commenced the assembly with his soulful prayer followed by the latest happening around the globe by Ridhi Agarwal of class S6. Hiranmayee Mishra of class S4 presented the ‘Thought of the day’ followed by an enlightening talk on Shri Krishna by Devanshi Dibiya of class S6. Rendition of a soulful and melodious bhajan sung by Pulkit Verma of class S6 and a scintillating dance performance by Adha Narang of class S2, Muskaan Goswami and Kavya Bhatia of class S6 and Aarav Ghai of class S5 enchanted one and all.

The tiny tots of Nursery and KG too celebrated the day on August 3, 2020. Savannah Singh of class KG-B talked about the importance and relevance of celebrating Janmashtami,and Aarna Dawar of class Nursery presented the ‘Thought of the day’. Meera Chauhan of class KG-A showcased her talent by singing 'Om bhur bhava swa ha'. The young modernites commemorated the birth of Lord Krishna with elation and joy.
