Special Assembly on Dussehra P1-S7

Dussehra was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm in a special assembly conducted by the students of Himalaya House of classes P1-S7 on October 23, 2020.

The assembly commenced with a melodious prayer followed by the ‘Thought of the Day’ given by Medhansh Raghav of class P5- D and Kavir Manchanda of class P1- C through which they reinforced the message that good always triumphs over evil. The news was presented by Aarav Madnani of class P3- A and Jayha Choung of class P2-C. The weather report was read out by Aradhya Vasudeva of class P1-C. Saisha Sawhney of class P4- C and Deveshi Dhaundial of class P2-A, through an inspiring talk explicated that no matter how intelligent a person is, his pride can make him collapse. They emphasised on the fact that one should always follow the path of truth and righteousness.

The mesmerizing performances by our little modernites glorified the occasion. Advya Tyagi of class P1- C, Anay Rathaur and Naisha Kapoor of class P1-A recited poems on Dussehra. Soham (P4-C) enthralled the audience with a melodious bhajan and Hunar (P5-C) elucidated about the ten heads of Ravana .

Aaradhya (P3 – B)Yashmit (P4- B), Rutvi (P4-B), Gitanjali (P3-A), Aarav (P3-B) and Viren (P3-B) dressed up as the characters of the great epic Ramayana exhibited remarkable dialogue delivery and graceful dances.The assembly culminated with a scintillating dance performance by the students of class P3.

The senior students commenced their assembly with Saraswati Vandana presented by Jasmine of class S2A invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati followed by a captivating dance performance by Aadya Khatter of class S2A on Ganesh Vandana. The news and ‘thought for the day’ was presented by Lovedeep Singh of class S3B and Paavni Jain of class S2B respectively.

The talk presented by Aarav Goel of class S2A enlightened everyone with the significance of celebrating the festival and how it is celebrated throughout the country.

The audience was spellbound by the musical instrumental presentation of Lovedeep Singh of S3B.Aaira of class S2A presented a classical dance and Zoya of class S3B recited a hindi poem on ‘vijayadashmi’.

The highlight of the assembly was the teachings of Ramayana presented by Aarav (S6C), Parul (S7C), Priyanshi (S7A),Aditi (S6C), Bhoomika(S5B), Aadhil(S4A), Rudransh(S6A),Zoya (S3),Tanishtha(S1A) and Anish (S5A).They reminded the audience of the fact that truth always wins and motivates them to follow the path of Dharma. They also emphasized that if one is able to overcome the evil within oneself , then it can help make the society a better place to live in .

The event enriched the students with the knowledge of the rich Indian culture and values. The modernites reveled in the splendid festivities.
