A special virtual assembly on 'Earth Day' was put up by the students of Shiwalik House for classes P1-S7 on April 23,2021. It highlighted the importance of 'Sustainable Development'.

The theme for Earth Day 2021 being 'Restore our Earth'

focuses on natural processes and emerging green technologies that can restore and replenish the world’s ecosystems. The students were enlightened about the significance of planting trees. A PowerPoint presentation was also shown to them. that gave the message “Let us promise to plant one tree one person every year and we will have a much greener and happier planet to live. A tree plantation activity was also conducted in the classes. The students took the oath to create awareness in the society to save trees.

Some enlightening poems on nature were recited by Sharvi Bansal of P2 B, Vihaan Gakhar of class P1 B and Paavani Nayyar of class P3B. Pulkit Verma of S7 C sang an inspirational song on saving Mother Earth, that was truly an eye opener for all. Samaira Kumar of class P5C recited a poem on planet Earth, composed by her mother to mark the occasion.

The students celebrated the day with joy and verve. Teachers emphasised on the importance of afforestation, planting of trees and the need for everyone to put together their efforts and get into action, in protecting the earth and its environment.
