The Modern School, ECNCR celebrated Mahatma Gandhi’s 151st birthday with great zeal, enthusiasm and patriotism. The virtual special assembly held by Himalaya House on October 1, 2020, was a sincere effort by the students of S1-S7 to give a deep insight into the life and times of Mahatma Gandhi.

The assembly commenced with a harmonic rendition of the prayer ‘Teri hai zameen, tera aasman … ‘sung by Aarav Goel of S2 A, followed by the news that was read by Aditya Jain of S1 A. An eloquent thought was presented by Siya Gupta of S6 A, which emphasized the importance of living life to the fullest and continuing the spirit of learning new things every day. The talk presented by Aarav Banerjee of S6 C enlightened us with the ideals and philosophies of Mahatma Gandhi.

The highlight of the assembly was the talent presented by Tannishtha of S1 A who showcased her graceful dancing skills on the song ‘Maati pukare,tujhe desh pukare’. It was followed by a melodious song sung by Priyanshi of S7 A. The assembly continued with a euphonic poem sung by Parual Bhola of S7 C.
The splendid assembly was concluded with the presentation given by students of S6 C. Students articulated Gandhi’s ideology and contributions towards Indian independence skillfully through various mediums like- songs, thoughts, talk, and dance.
The marvelous performances of the students enthralled everyone.
