‘Great leaders don’t tell you what to do; they show you how it’s done.’

The words of Vince Lombardi are a great source of motivation and they truly outline the objective to build great leaders of tomorrow . The leaders who would exhibit the wisdom, desire and life skills to face any situation in life and discuss and act on issues of vitality, for the world to transform into a better place .

In order to lay the foundation of this transformation, the school organised its first Intra School Model United Nations (MUN) virtually on July 28, 2021.

It became a success story because of the coordination and hard work of the team leaders and student delegates. The MUN had three committees- UNGA (United Nations General Assembly), UNSC (United Nations Security Council), AIPPM (All India Political Parties Meet). All the students were welcomed and instructed about the rules and regulations to be followed during their respective committee meetings. The committees were hosted by the teachers, and the team leaders executed the plan of action in the meetings.

The committees commenced with the opening statements of all the delegates followed by the Moderated Caucus. Students actively debated over their respective agendas and policies of their assigned nations. The delegates did tremendously well as first timers and bagged various positions in the event as well. Every delegate was unique, with his or her own style of delivering speeches, asking questions and even raising motions. Proper decorum was maintained by all the delegates. The team leaders coordinated with the teachers for the analysis of the result . The result was assessed by the core committee comprising of teachers and team leaders as members.

UNGA
• Best Delegate- Aadrita Nandi (S5-A)
• High Commendation- Trisha Ghai (S5-A) and Vinayak Parashar (S4-B)

Model United Nations was truly a wholesome learning experience for both the students and the great team of teachers. It inspired the students to research and take a lead with a problem solving approach in life. The school aspires to organise many such events in the future, in order to realise its aim and objectives.
