Trip To Mashobra
83 students of classes S1 to S6 of The Modern School, ECNCR accompanied by 9 teachers attended a five days adventure trip to Camp Wild Woods, Mashobra from June 3, 2019 to June 7, 2019.
The students reached Mashobra during the early hours of June 4, 2019and reached the campsite after a short trek.
They were divided into two teams, Green Grenades and Black Commandos. The two teams did all their activities and ate meals together. They even competed against each other in team- building activities such as Hangman and Guerrilla warfare.
The students enjoyed and learned the skills involved in various activities like Rappelling, Zip- Lining, Mountain biking, Obstacle Course, Survival Trek, Day and Night Trek, self- cooking; Yoga and Zumba.
The scenic view of the Himalayan hilltops, waterfalls, the sunset was captivating and a delight for the city dwellers. In the midst of nature, children lived in pitched tents and cottages revelling in the fresh and cool, crisp air.
Trekking through the green forests filled with rocky terrain, tall cedar trees and gurgling creeks; performing activities which tested and enhanced their endurance, strength and stamina; spending time with their friends in tents under the moonlit sky at night, the students had had their fill of adventure, fun and learning.
Each fun-filled and adventurous day ended with journal writing and reflections during bonfire, where the students sang to the strumming of the guitar; laughing and unwinding.
The trip was an educational and exciting experience for the students, where they learned life skills such as leadership, survival without technology, importance of nature and wildlife; team- spirit and coordination.
They also got an opportunity to avail the bounty of Mother nature as well as bonding with their schoolmates.
