Someone has rightly said, “Learning should be a joy and full of excitement.” The Modern School, ECNCR organised a virtual excursion to the Thar Desert on September 26, 2020 for students of class P5.

To enhance student’s knowledge of the desert, they were acquainted about the sand dunes, oasis, camel rides as well as vegetation and crops grown by the people in the desert region. The Desert National Park displays the best of the Thar Desert’s ecosystem and its varied wildlife. It has a great collection of fossils of animals and plants. Rann of Kutch and Rajasthan Desert Festival is another attraction of Rajasthan. Following it, the students were excited to visit Jaisalmer, a place where the forts are still alive and The Junagarh Fort of Bikaner is a magnificent structure around which the city of Bikaner grew up, one of the most beautiful examples of Rajasthani architecture .The excursion not only gave the students an insight of the places but also made them explore beyond what they had known earlier. Their excitement could be sensed when they eagerly asked more about the places they visited virtually.
