The Modern School, ECNCR organised a virtual excursion to the Thar Desert for the students of class P4 on November 4, 2020

They were introduced to sand dunes, oasis, camel rides as well as the vegetation and crops grown by the people in the desert region. The Desert National Park which displays the best of the Thar Desert’s ecosystem and its varied wildlife was also visited by them.

The students learned a great deal about the desert’s flora and fauna and they also enjoyed the visuals of Rann of Kutch. They were equally excited to visit Jaisalmer, a place where the forts are still alive. They were told that the Junagarh Fort of Bikaner was a magnificent structure around which the city of Bikaner grew up to be one of the most beautiful examples of Rajasthani architecture .The excursion not only gave the students an insight into the varied places of Thar Desert but also made them explore beyond what they had known earlier. Their excitement could be sensed when they eagerly asked more about the places they visited virtually.
