‘Poverty is not being without money but being without hope.’

The Interactors of The Modern School, ECNCR visited the students of Adarsh Primary School of Street children, Sonipat on October 12, 2019. Mr. O.P Dahiya and Mr. Ramchander Dahiya( who has worked all his life with tribals to educate them in Andaman and Nicobar islands), Founders of the school shared their journey about the inception of the school and their efforts to encourage the underprivileged children to study.

Their painstaking labour and fortitude to provide necessary and quality education to these children was clearly visible through the facilities and environment of the school.

Interactors were inquisitive to know more about the children studying there. They spent quality time with the students and also attended classes with them.

The bright (and adorable) students in the primary school share an enthusiasm for learning and a competitive spirit that shined through their talks with our students.

This visit showed them a side of life they could never have imagined; made them thankful for their plentiful life as well as determined to help the under privileged . To lead India in tomorrow’s world, it needs something or someone to help it achieve its vast potential – a good education is that something and Akshara is that someone.
