Visit to the National Gallery of Modern Art
On 3rd May 2025, The Modern School, ECNCR organized an art excursion to the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, for students of Grades S3 to S7. Approximately 30 students, all passionate art enthusiasts, participated in this enriching educational visit.
During the excursion, students engaged in live sketching sessions, drawing inspiration from the diverse collection of artworks on display. They expressed deep appreciation for the masterpieces exhibited, many of which were part of their academic curriculum. A particular highlight of the visit was viewing the renowned painting Mother Teresa by the celebrated artist M.F. Husain.
The excursion concluded with a group photograph taken at the iconic Banyan Tree sculpture by acclaimed contemporary artist Subodh Gupta. This striking installation, composed of stainless steel and incorporating metal buckets as leaves, is a recent addition to the gallery’s lawns and left a lasting impression on the students.
The visit proved to be both educational and inspiring, offering students a unique opportunity to engage with modern Indian art in a meaningful and interactive manner.
