World Dance Day

“They say when words fail, dance speaks. It speaks of joy, of sorrow, of celebration, of resistance. It is rhythm, it is grace, it is passion personified.”

On the occasion of World Dance Day, the school celebrated Kathakali, an art form on April 28, 2025 which honoured a legacy that transcends borders, speaks to the soul, and connects all in the language of motion and emotion. A Senior Artist at The International Centre for Kathakali, Shri Kalyana Krishnan Nair along with his team of magnificent artists, graced the stage with their artistry, discipline, and commitment. The programme commenced with the auspicious lamp lighting ceremony. This was followed by an interactive session where the artist enlightened the students about the aesthetic beauty of Indian Culture and Philosophy, along with the importance of classical performing arts. He explained the nuances of various mudras which are unique to Kathakali and the meaning of the word ‘Kathakar’. The artist regaled and mesmerized audience with his  intricate hand gestures, elaborate costumes, and expressive facial expressions which  truly brought the story to life. As the performance came to an end, the school hall rounded with applaud showing that the way they conveyed emotions through dance was incredible."
